Terms and conditions

The items:

 Items are supplied in good faith as ‘vintage’ and a certain degree of wear and tear is to be expected. Items, including cutlery, are mismatching. Alice’s Vintage Kitchen reserves the right to substitute contemporary pieces where appropriate but will endeavour to inform the customer as and when this is necessary.

Hire period:

China and accessory hire is usually up to 3 days. Please ask for a quote if you require it for a longer period.

Bookings and payment:

China hire and catering: We require a £50 non-refundable deposit upon confirmation of your booking.  Final numbers normally to be confirmed 7 days prior to event along with 50% payment. A final invoice will be calculated to show the balance, actual staff hours, equipment breakages or any other costs incurred. Full and final payment is required within 14 days of invoice.

China hire only: We require a £50 non-refundable deposit upon confirmation of your booking. The balance can either be paid by cheque or BACS 7 days prior to event or by cash on day of hire.

We also request a breakage deposit of £50 and can be either paid by cheque or BACS prior to event or by cash on day of delivery. This will be either returned to you once china has been returned and checked or charges as below will be deducted. Any extra charges will be invoiced.

Cancellation:

Cancellations made between 28 to 8 days prior to the event will be charged 50% of the estimated food cost. 7 to 2 days prior to the event will be charged 100% of the estimated food cost, less than 48 hours then full payment plus minimum payment for any staff booked is required..

Delivery and collection:

We will happily deliver and collect free of charge within a 20 mile radius of DL1 4PJ Darlington. For outside of this area we charge 30p per mile per journey

Please let us have any information regarding parking and access to the venue. As you will appreciate our china may be fragile but it's also quite heavy!

Set up and clear away service:

We provide a full set up and clear away service from £50 (depending upon numbers)

Breakages:

We will provide a list of replacement charges (see below). If there are any breakages, chips or damage to any item, then the appropriate replacement cost will be added to the final payment.

We will wash all items upon return but please ensure they are clear of excess food and liquid before packing.  We will provide all packing materials. Please handle all china with care when stacking and packing up. If you prefer us to repack the items for transportation this will incur a charge of £25.

Linen:

Please ensure that any linen is dry and free from debris before packing. Damage caused by mildew, burns or heavy staining will be charged at full replacement cost.

Responsibility:

At all times items remain the property of Alice’s Vintage Kitchen and under no circumstances should they be used by any other third party.

Liability:

Hire of goods:

Alice’s Vintage Kitchen shall not be responsible for any injury or damage to persons or property arising from the goods, however caused. Alice’s Vintage Kitchen will not under any circumstance accept liability for any claims that arise from any event concerning or involving items hired.

Food Safety:

Under Food Hygiene regulations all food should be consumed within four hours of serving. Finger food which is left unsupervised or consumed later is not covered under our Public Liability Insurance.
